What does my school, program or organization hope to accomplish through social media? This is a common mistake many organization make with social media. If you don’t know what you’re hoping to accomplish how do you if your efforts are successful?
Do we have clearly defined and measurable goals? Ensure you are properly seizing the available opportunity to elevate the perception of our programs, and success of the University as a whole. The goals you set will help you understand what social networks make sense for you to be utilizing.
Concentrate your efforts on one platform before expanding your presence. Take the time to engage, educate and inform. Social media is about transparency and customer service.
Do we have the content to sustain a presence, or are we an initiative that would benefit more from a hashtag and collaborative promotion on central accounts?
